The Creation Investigation

The Creation Investigation was a smashing success. There were approximately 70 attendees and David Woetzel’s Friday night and Saturday presentations were not only educational but quite engaging and enjoyed by all. Dino Dave covered various topics from teaching creation in our schools to dinosaur exploration with pictures of his various expeditions which was very popular among the younger attendees. He even scientifically as well as biblically disproved  the worldly theory of evolution! We were all so impressed that we plan on having Dino Dave back again in the near future.

Mission: Presenting a journey from “The Back Forty” to the Bible and applying it to Practical Farming

David’s testimony will reveal his Biblical journey seeking God’s Plan through Creation and Stewardship with respect to farming. He will share the Biblical Truths he discovered, that have been placed on his heart, which not only has changed his perspective on farming but on all aspects of his life.

The Lord has provided him and his family, with the stewardardship of Bittersweet Farm, a 160 acre family farm in Lyndeborough, NH. On Bittersweet Farm the Schmechels raise registered Belted Galloway beef cattle and registered Gloucestershire Old Spots Pigs. They also have Dutch Belted Dairy heifers, produce and sell feeder piglets, grass fed beef, pork, pasture raised broiler chickens, natural honey, fresh eggs, farm grown hay and maintain an apple, pear and peach orchard.

Ben and Monica live on a 3.8 acre farm in Francestown, NH.  They started farming 4 years ago with no prior experience.  Now they are raising chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats and a calf.  They are planning on improving their 22 raised bed garden this year and making another pasture.  Just a few books, advice from friends and much prayer and they are on their way.  Come hear them share their vision and how they are trying to simplify their efforts with good planning so that they can maximize their time with the family.

The morning session will build upon the Biblical Stewardship foundation, encouraging an open Forum discussion. During the afternoon session David, Ben and Monica will share their practical farming experience while applying these Biblical principles and demonstrating to families how to produce naturally raised food for themselves. They will discuss topics such as raising and processing pastured chickens, keeping layer hens, keeping bees, raising pork and grass fed beef, pruning and keeping fruit trees, animal housing, fencing and raised bed vegetable gardening.

1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

Merry Christmas!

On behalf of all of us at the Gospel Family Forum, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful and wonderful Christmas.  As followers of Jesus Christ, this season is a wonderful celebration of the greatest gift ever given — our Lord and Savior.  Regardless of how you celebrate this season, may your hearts be full of the joy of Jesus.

We are in awe of the beautiful things God accomplished over the past year through the Gospel Family Forum.  His provision enabled us to host five different events attended by over 500 attendees.  We met families from six different states and two countries.  One of our key desires was to see God bring together a community of families who are seeking the Lord and we rejoiced to hear of multiple new family friendships formed.  God’s gift of hospitality was in full force as people opened homes to brothers and sisters in Christ who needed a place to stay.  We were blessed by our guest presenters who travelled from Virginia, Kansas, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

We are prayerful about how the the Lord will lead us in 2014.  He has already put on our hearts a desire to dramatically change how we use our website to provide more resources and facilitate greater engagement among visitors.  Our first forum in 2014 will be focused on the biblical principle of stewardship and held in the first part of the year.  We are in prayer about additional topics and gatherings.  If you have ideas or suggestions for topics we would love to hear from you.  Also, if the Lord has put a topic on your heart, we encourage you to contact us about doing a presentation.

Finally, we rejoice in the goodness of our Lord and for the encouragement each of you have been to our families.  Over the course of the year, we were blessed countless times watching how God is working in families to draw them closer to Him.  We are grateful to each of you for how you have blessed us.

May the God of hope be with you in this season of joy,

H.A. Schade  &  David Schmechel

Exploring the Morality of Music from a Biblical Perspective

Presented By:  Don Staddon

Don Staddon has worked in the field of electrical engineering for twenty eight years and ministers as a layman to laymen. He and his family have sung and spoken in churches and at various community activities with the simple goal of encouraging families to seek God’s best.

Don and his wife Donna have faithfully raised eight children with the joy of seeing each one of them seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). A number of their children have had opportunities to serve in ministries throughout the United States and abroad. Their meek testimony of the sufficiency of Christ in all things has encouraged many families throughout the years.

Donna has earned a degree in music and has taught musical skills to all of their children. With her assistance and that of his children, Don undertook a study of the Bible to determine whether music is an amoral issue and consequently simply a matter of what we like, or whether music is a moral issue and therefore a matter of what God is like. The results of this study are documented in their book: The Power of Music. The lessons they learned will be shared in this conference. The Staddon family currently lives among the beautiful hills of West Virginia. www.staddonfamily.com

Some of the Topics:

    • The Morality of Music – Is God musical?
    • Discerning Godly Music – What is God like?
    • Biblical Principles of Separation – Who are we imitating?
    • Biblical Origins of Music – When did music become a part of corporate worship?
    • History of Music in America – What is the source of popular music?
    • Music in Worship and Revival – Is Satan receiving worship?

Joshua 24:15 …..But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
